Bittersweet Goodbye

Work hard...okay
Acceptance awaiting
Prepare, so they say
But what if I'm sinking?

Change is an ocean, a black hidden sea
Fifth gear in motion, a catastrophe
Humanity's foreign, let alone easy
It feels like dreams are meant to stay sleeping

How do I go?
Worried about all those "I could have"s
Growing up
Ever a known height, should've been gold to find
Bittersweet goodbye

And plan, so soon
A thought out blue-print I produce
Hesitancy grew and time was running few
I'm bound to be a pawn
What the hell do I do?
Life seems like a tease (tease)
Doesn't give you what you need (need)
Maybe I'm thinking way too much

How do I go?
Worried about all those "I could have"s
Growing up
Ever a known height
Should've been gold to find
Bittersweet goodbye

This is my life, this one decision
I don't know what I'm doing

How do I go?
Worried about all those "I could have"s
Ever a known height
Should've been gold to find
Bittersweet goodbye

ahh mm
Baby, honey mmm

Behind the Scenes

I wrote “Bittersweet Goodbye” in my senior year of high school when I was figuring out where I wanted to go in life. As a typical teenager, I didn’t know what the right decision was to take and who I wanted to be. This originally was made as a Soundcloud single, but I felt I could do more with it when I was composing the entire album. I played around with the background vocals and experimented with how I could add to the textures of the song with my voice. The arpeggiated synth in the background was improved and the overall mix was redone. On my earlier Soundcloud tracks I was using a Shure SM57 microphone. Once I upgraded to a better one, I felt I could utilize much more depth and clearness to my vocals. The lyrics in the Soundcloud version are a bit different as well.

I’ve linked the Soundcloud version down below
