Lyrics to another one of Ataraxia’s indecisive tracks
Here
Coast's clear
I'm here
Didn't think I'd have to watch every block
Make it stop
There's not anywhere to go
Not even home
Mom
I'm lost
I'm wrung out
19 and barely
Hanging on
What's wrong
With me
Please don't be angry
At me
Will it ever go away soon?
I don't mean to say bad things to you
I just get angry when I'm overused
So what're you gonna do?
So what're you gonna do?
So what're you gonna do?
So what're you gonna do?
So what're you gonna do?
So what're you gonna do?
Behind the Scenes
As the 2023 year I ended, I noticed a lot of unfamiliar feelings creep up within me. “there’s nothing wrong with you” captures the feeling of being watched, the need to make the next step in life, and the fear of being less than enough.
It was a very simple composition with only three instruments behind my voice. I decided to ditch the metronome and perform at my most authentic and live version of myself. I let myself hold notes for as long as I wanted. I let myself use my voice in the way that I wanted. I let myself show whatever feelings I needed to in this piece.
Later on, I couldn’t think of a sufficient title for the song, so I decided to answer my own question that I asked within the piece. What’s wrong with me? There’s nothing wrong with you?
