The lyrics to Ataraxia's first ever distributed song on major streaming platforms
Take me home
To the way slow down
To the underground
Mind overspills
Moments uphill
When ya gonna drop it all
Please me
I just can't get over this
Running away, throw it away
I still care, don't know what for
Somewhere, my forest needed more
Don't wanna talk
Wouldn't mend my blame
Wooden kindled flame
hmm
So we wade through the weeds
Sweet child, get through this
I know it's useless
To be free
I just can't get over this
Running away, throw it away
I still care, don't know what for
Somewhere, my forest needed more
Behind the Scenes
This song was my second song that I ever distributed. The idea came out of no where, with the bass melody being my inspiration. I just came up with this melody on a whim and decided to record it. Then came the lyrics, which describe the desire to let go of bad habits and return to safe places (like the forest). I originally recorded this early on in my music journey with a somewhat terrible mic. The vocal recordings were all done in my bathtub on a typical Tuesday. After distributing that one and learning a bit more about music production, I decided to redo the vocals with a better mic and improve the mix of the song. This lead to the “reversion” of To the Forest, which is now part of my album, The Fox and the Flame.
